OVPN is a VPN service for individuals, delivered through apps for Windows, macOS, Android, iOS, Ubuntu, openSUSE and Fedora, with router support. It supports OpenVPN and WireGuard, runs its own DNS servers and offers port forwarding, plus Multihop and a public IPv4 address as add-ons. The vendor states that it keeps no logs, owns its servers rather than renting them, and runs them without hard drives.
OVPN announced in May 2023 that it had been acquired by Pango, the US company also behind Hotspot Shield, and would continue as a separate service. According to a product catalogue, that parent is now called Point Wild. The site and privacy policy name OVPN Inc., incorporated in the United States, as the legal operating entity. The company says its account and VPN services run in the EU and the US, and it shows data centres in Stockholm and Gothenburg. A US entity and parent are exposed to the CLOUD Act, which a European organisation should weigh despite the Swedish infrastructure.
