rasdaman is an array database and analytics engine for large multidimensional data, such as satellite time series and spatio-temporal grids. It stores and queries raster data with a query language and supports open standards from the OGC, ISO and INSPIRE. Clients exist for Python, R and QGIS, and existing archives can be accessed without copying the data. The software is distributed as server software that can be installed on the organisation's own infrastructure, and a Community Edition is available.
rasdaman GmbH is based in Bremen, Germany. The website names no foreign owner. The Community Edition is free software: the server code is licensed under the GNU General Public License and the client libraries under the GNU Lesser General Public License, so organisations can run and inspect it on their own systems. The operator chooses where processing takes place.
