Simcenter is the simulation and physical testing portfolio of Siemens Digital Industries Software. It covers mechanical and manufacturing simulation, computational fluid dynamics for flow and thermal problems, systems simulation, physical testing and model-based systems engineering. Engineers use it to test products virtually before they are built. Part of the offer is available as a cloud service, such as Simcenter X.
The parent company, Siemens AG, has its head office in Munich, Germany, so the developer sits inside the EU. The cloud-based services are not tied to a documented hosting location in the sources consulted. Siemens offers an opt-in option that limits the handling of support cases to the EU, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Israel, but that option excludes SaaS products. For the hosting policy of a specific product, the contract and the data processing terms are decisive, so they should be checked before purchase.
