Siteimprove is a platform for the quality of websites and digital content, with modules for accessibility, search visibility, content strategy and web analytics. Organisations use it to check and improve their websites and documents. The service is delivered as a hosted web platform with an analytics script on the website.
Siteimprove is headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark, and its registered legal entity is Siteimprove A/S. Since 2020, the majority of its shares has been held by the private equity firm Nordic Capital. According to the vendor's help documentation, analytics data is processed by default in EU data centres (AWS in Frankfurt), with an option to host in the United States, and is not transferred outside the chosen region. A European organisation should record that hosting choice in its contract and include the analytics script, which is delivered through a content delivery network, in its data protection assessment.
