Slido is an audience-interaction tool for meetings, training sessions and events. Presenters run live polls, quizzes, word clouds, surveys and anonymous audience Q&A, review the results in an analytics view and export them afterwards. Participants join from their own device without an account or download. Slido connects to PowerPoint, Google Slides, Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Webex. It is delivered as software as a service.
Slido began as a Slovak company in Bratislava and was acquired by Cisco; the service is now part of Webex. Its ultimate parent is therefore a US company, which is the relevant signal under the US CLOUD Act. According to Slido's security page, the service runs on Amazon Web Services infrastructure located in the EU, in Ireland and Germany, and Slido says it would notify customers before any move to another region. Slido is not open source. A European organisation therefore gets EU data location, but should weigh the US ownership when assessing legal access risk.
