Sustainalytics is a provider of ESG research, ratings and data for investors and companies. For investors it offers ESG risk ratings, controversies research, country risk ratings and screening, complemented by solutions for EU regulation such as the taxonomy, SFDR and CSRD, climate tools and nature data. Companies can take an ESG licence and rating, and services for sustainable finance include use-of-proceeds reviews. The data is delivered through APIs and data feeds, the Global Access research database, screening services and partner platforms.
Sustainalytics is headquartered in Amsterdam. Morningstar took a 40 percent stake in 2017 and bought the remainder in 2020, making the US-based Morningstar the sole owner. That US parent is a CLOUD Act signal. The service is not open source. Public information does not name a hosting location for customer data, so agree it contractually.
