That Open Platform is an open-source toolkit for building BIM and IFC applications for the web. It is developed by That Open Company, which describes its work as free and open-source technology for the architecture, engineering, construction and operations (AECO) sector. The source code is published on GitHub under the MIT licence, which permits use, modification and integration of the components in other software.
The legal entity behind the project is TOC Systems, SL, whose registered office is in El Tarter in Andorra. Andorra is outside the EU and the EEA, so a European organisation that relies on the company for support or contractual terms should take that jurisdiction into account. The vendor's website does not describe a hosted service for the toolkit, which is distributed as source code. An organisation can therefore run the components on its own infrastructure and keep project data and IFC models under its own control.
