FORGE is forging simulation software from Transvalor, covering hot and cold forging. It predicts material flow and die filling, folds and laps, damage and cracking, tool stresses and wear, and the forces, energies and torques that presses must deliver, to check whether equipment capacity is sufficient. Automatic optimisation can reduce the starting billet and flash, lower the forging force and extend tool life. FORGE belongs to a wider Transvalor range that includes COLDFORM, THERCAST and SIMHEAT. It is licensed with floating tokens that users share and can run on a workstation or a compute server under a licence server.

By its own account the company originated in research and keeps a close link with the CEMEF research centre of MinesParisTech.
