Arista VeloCloud SD-WAN is a software-defined wide area network platform for connecting branch offices, data centres and cloud environments. It consists of a multi-tenant, cloud-based Orchestrator for configuration and monitoring, cloud gateways at points of presence and cloud data centres worldwide, and Edges: physical devices or virtual instances that are provisioned from the cloud without manual setup. The product came to Broadcom through its acquisition of VMware and was acquired by Arista Networks around mid-2025.
Arista Networks is headquartered in Santa Clara, California, and is subject to US law, including the CLOUD Act. Where the Orchestrator and gateways host customer data, and which data residency options exist for the EU, is not publicly stated. European organisations that want to keep the management and telemetry of their branch networks within the EU should ask Arista where the Orchestrator runs and which data processing agreement applies. The product is proprietary.
