OLVIDO from the Spanish company authUSB is a secure deletion tool for destroying sensitive information in line with current regulations. It uses deletion algorithms developed by Spain's National Cryptologic Centre (CCN), for ENS level and for classified information. Users delete files with a right-click. OLVIDO can erase files and folders, free disk space, unused cluster fragments, disks and volumes, and temporary folders. Administrators configure deletion policies based on the applicable rules; all actions are reported, audited and signed in real time, so a deletion can be justified in a forensic examination.
authUSB is based in Vigo, Spain, and according to its website has received grants from Galician and European regional funds. OLVIDO is installed software rather than a hosted service. The vendor mentions inclusion in the Spanish CPSTIC catalogue. There is no non-European parent company.
