CapRover is a self-hosted platform-as-a-service for deploying applications and databases on your own server. Under the hood it uses Docker and nginx. You deploy through the dashboard, the command line, a webhook or an existing Git workflow, and apps in any language or container are supported. It includes automatic HTTPS through Let's Encrypt, one-click installation of databases and applications such as WordPress, and scaling across several nodes using Docker Swarm. The project states that applications keep running if CapRover is removed.
CapRover runs entirely on infrastructure you choose, so data stays in the location you pick. The licence is Apache 2.0 with an additional appendix that takes precedence: paid features may not be modified or redistributed without a written agreement, and changes to the free features must be distributed as free and open-source software. Installation requires accepting terms. CapRover collects anonymous usage analytics by default; these can be switched off with an environment variable.
