CloudHealth, also offered as VMware Tanzu CloudHealth, is a multi-cloud financial management (FinOps) platform. Organisations use it to analyse cost and usage data across several cloud environments and to optimise and control spending. According to the vendor, it includes optimisation dashboards, commitment-discount and rightsizing recommendations, detection of spending anomalies, grouping of costs by business unit (Perspectives) and an AI assistant that answers questions in natural language. It is software as a service, with sales, marketing and support handled by Arrow Electronics.
VMware acquired CloudHealth Technologies in 2018, and Broadcom now owns and develops the product. The provider therefore falls under US ownership and US jurisdiction, including the CLOUD Act. The platform is not open source. The sources consulted do not state where customer data is hosted, so a European organisation should agree hosting region, subprocessors and data transfers with the vendor or Arrow in the contract before adopting it.
