eduVPN, also known as Let's Connect!, is VPN server software with a user portal, an admin portal and an OAuth 2.0 API for the eduVPN and Let's Connect! apps. It was designed for educational institutions but is open to anyone; under the name Let's Connect!, with its own project site, it is also aimed at internet providers, hosters and businesses. Operators install it on Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora or an Enterprise Linux distribution and choose between WireGuard and OpenVPN. Users can sign in through a local user database, LDAP, RADIUS, OIDC, SAML or client certificates. Multi-server set-ups for load balancing or high availability are documented as well.
eduVPN is developed within the eduVPN programme of The Commons Conservancy, a foundation established under Dutch law in 2016. The programme holds the copyright. The source code is released under the AGPL-3.0-or-later and hosted on Codeberg. Because the server software runs on your own systems, you decide where the data is kept. Development has received support from NLnet, among others.
