According to the vendor it acts as a central control point for applications such as Microsoft 365, Salesforce and ServiceNow as well as other web applications, while keeping functions like search and sorting. Encryption can be applied at field level, using AES-256 and RSA-4096 or post-quantum algorithms. Users need to install nothing. The solution can be hosted "in your company or by a partner"; a fully managed SaaS variant also exists. The company appears in the TeleTrusT "IT Security made in Germany" register.

eperi is headquartered in Pfungstadt, Germany. In February 2022, funds advised by Equistone Partners Europe, a UK-regulated investor, acquired a majority stake; the founder kept a substantial holding. When self-hosted, software and keys stay in your own environment; where the SaaS variant runs is not stated on the pages consulted. The vendor says cloud providers thereby cannot access readable data, which is its own claim.
