Eploy: sovereignty score and 8 European alternatives

Eploy is a cloud-based talent acquisition platform built around an applicant tracking system (ATS). It includes configurable workflows and hiring pipelines, automated interview scheduling, career-site integration, talent pools with a recruitment CRM, onboarding with offers, contracts and e-signatures, and self-service analytics dashboards. Modules for employee referrals and recruitment marketing, including multiposting to job boards, are also available. It is aimed at recruitment teams, HR, hiring managers and recruitment agencies, and is delivered as SaaS.

Eploy has developed recruitment software since 1998 and is based in the United Kingdom. In June 2025, The Access Group, a UK-headquartered business software provider, announced an agreement to acquire Eploy, subject to regulatory approval. Eploy would become part of the Access People portfolio. The company and its owner are therefore subject to UK law rather than that of the EU or the US. The sources name no hosting location, so the data location should be fixed contractually.

Why digital sovereignty matters with Eploy

Eploy is headquartered in GB, outside the EU. Contracts and data therefore also fall under non-European law. The GDPR applies through contractual terms, but in a conflict with local legislation you have less certainty than with a European vendor.

Eploy hosts data outside the EU (GB). Personal data therefore leaves the EU, which requires a transfer mechanism under the GDPR and pulls the data residency score down.

Eploy is closed source and hosted by the vendor. The encryption keys and the runtime sit with the vendor and switching requires data migration. Ask about bring-your-own-key, export options and open standards.

What this means for your organisation depends on your whole stack and context. The free assessment weighs Eploy together with your other vendors and gives a total score, a heatmap and the main risk drivers.
