FortiClient VPN is a VPN client from Fortinet for remote access to corporate networks. It is available for Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS and Android. Fortinet offers the client in three forms: a VPN-only version, a Standalone edition for small deployments that includes MFA support, and a version managed centrally through FortiClient EMS, the Endpoint Management Server used to provision, monitor and quarantine endpoints. Organisations install the client on their own devices.
Fortinet, Inc. is based in Sunnyvale in the United States. As client software, FortiClient VPN does not itself store data at Fortinet; connections run to the gateways that the organisation sets up. Where data of related cloud services is hosted is not stated for the client. For other Fortinet services, the privacy policy mentions data centres located primarily in Canada, and Fortinet relies on standard contractual clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework for transfers. A data processing agreement is available on request. As a US vendor, Fortinet falls under US jurisdiction.
