Synapse is Fujifilm's PACS and enterprise imaging platform for radiology, cardiology, digital pathology and vendor-neutral archiving in hospitals and imaging centres. Its components include Synapse 7x, Synapse VNA, Synapse 3D and an AI platform, and Fujifilm also offers Synapse One for outpatient imaging centres. Fujifilm states that the Synapse products can run on cloud-based or on-premise infrastructure.
Fujifilm Holdings Corporation, the group's parent, is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, and reports on a March fiscal year. As a Japanese group it is outside the EU, and a European hosting option for Synapse has not been confirmed. European hospitals can run Synapse on their own infrastructure, which keeps image data under local control. Before procurement, the hosting location, the processor agreement and the way remote support access is granted should be confirmed in writing.
