Geotrek is a web-mapping suite for managing and promoting hiking trails, outdoor activities, heritage and the tourism offer of an area. The suite consists of Geotrek-admin, a GIS back-office application built on Django and PostGIS, Geotrek-rando for a public website, Geotrek-widget to embed activities in an existing site, and Geotrek-mobile for field use. Nature parks, local authorities and tourism organisations use it to manage and publish their route data. You install the software yourself on your own servers.
Geotrek is open source under the BSD licence; the documentation is under Apache 2. According to the copyright notice it was developed by Makina Corpus Territoires (France) together with the Écrins, Mercantour and Alpi Marittime parks. The project site also describes a community of users and contributors; the fifth national Geotrek meeting took place in June 2026. The site does not mention a hosted offering. If you run Geotrek yourself, your data stays on your own infrastructure.
