Gemini is Google's AI assistant and the family of multimodal models behind it, working with text, code, images, audio and video. People use it for conversation, drafting, research and content creation. It is delivered as a web app, as apps for Android and iOS, and built into Google Workspace products such as Gmail and Docs. Developers reach the models through Vertex AI.
Gemini is developed by Google, a US company under US jurisdiction. For Workspace customers, Google states that prompts and customer data are not used to train models without the customer's prior permission. Since June 2026 administrators can set the Gemini app to store and process data in the EU, the US or both. In-region processing applies to Enterprise Plus and Frontline Plus; Education editions offer in-region storage only. End users cannot set this themselves, so check your edition and configuration.
