Goupile is an open-source tool for designing eCRFs (electronic case report forms), the electronic forms researchers use to collect data for clinical and health research. It is a web application that works on computers and mobile devices, including offline: data is synchronised once the connection returns. You programme forms in JavaScript, with predefined field types. You can install Goupile yourself or use it as a turnkey service.
Goupile is developed and published by InterHop, a French association that promotes free software for health research; according to the project, the work is done by volunteers. It is licensed under AGPL 3.0 and the source code is on Framagit. InterHop offers a hosted service on servers with an HDS certification (the French certification for hosting health data). According to its legal notice, personal data processed through the HDS services is hosted in France by the certified host GPLExpert. The association has a data protection officer. If you host Goupile yourself, the data stays on your own infrastructure.
