Inventaire is a free-software social network for listing and sharing books. Individuals and groups build networks of librarians around the books they own. The network runs on an open bibliographic database that extends Wikidata, so book data is available as open data. Inventaire is offered as a web application at inventaire.io; you can also install the server and client code yourself.
Inventaire is managed by a French non-profit association (association loi 1901) that looks after the inventaire.io instance, its data and its code. The code is open source under the GNU AGPL-3.0. According to the project's legal notice, inventaire.io is hosted with providers in Germany, France and Switzerland. The project is working on splitting Inventaire into two linked parts, the social network and the bibliographic database, so that more instances can reuse the same book data. Development was co-funded through NLnet and the European Union's NGI Zero programme.
