AI Model Hub is a managed platform from IONOS, the German cloud provider. It offers API access to openly available language and text-to-image models, together with embedding models for retrieval-augmented generation and vector search. The API follows the OpenAI format, so existing client libraries can be used. Usage is billed per token, and the service is delivered as a cloud service rather than as software to install.
IONOS SE is headquartered in Montabaur, Germany. According to IONOS documentation, all inference runs in IONOS Cloud data centres in Germany, no third-party sub-processors are engaged for the service, and prompts and outputs are neither logged nor used to train models. Processing falls under a data processing agreement with IONOS Cloud GmbH under the GDPR, so for a European organisation it is an EU-hosted alternative to US-hosted model APIs.
