LetReco is a French electronic registered mail service offered by the software publisher Equisign. Since 2012 it has let professionals and individuals send official documents by email with proof of receipt. There is a simple variant and a qualified variant, which the vendor says complies with Article 44 of the eIDAS Regulation, with stronger identification of sender and recipient. It is used through a web platform in the browser, without printing or postal dispatch, and APIs allow shipments to be automated from an ERP or CRM.
Equisign is based in La Défense, near Paris. According to the vendor, evidence is kept on servers in France, in line with GDPR. Equisign also offers MFT, a secure transfer solution for large files. No parent company outside Europe was found. For European organisations that need legally usable electronic registered mail under French and European law, it is a European choice alongside the large US e-signature providers.
