Lifesum is a mobile app for tracking food intake, exercise, water and weight, with personalised feedback, recipes and meal plans. Meals can be logged by photo, voice, text or barcode, and the app gives weekly advice. It connects to wearables such as the Apple Watch and Samsung Galaxy Watch. A separate offering, Lifesum for Work, is aimed at employers. The service is delivered as an app and as a web service.
Lifesum AB is a Swedish company with its address in Stockholm, and its privacy policy names it as the controller under the GDPR. For some services it is a joint controller with LykonDX GmbH, a German company. The policy says cloud hosting is provided by processors, without naming the country or region of storage. Data may be transferred outside the EEA, including to the United States, relying on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where applicable and otherwise on standard contractual clauses. The app is not described as open source. For a European organisation, the storage location and transfer safeguards are the main points to check.
