LinShare is an open-source platform for sharing files securely and traceably with internal and external partners. You can send large files with an expiry date and password, create guest accounts with limited access, issue upload requests and set up shared workspaces. An activity log and notifications show when files were shared or downloaded. Connections to LDAP and single sign-on, a REST API and an admin panel with domains and quotas are part of the package.
LinShare has been developed since 2009 by LINAGORA, a French company with its registered office in Issy-les-Moulineaux. The source code is on GitHub under the AGPL v3 licence. You can install it yourself, in the cloud, on-premises or in a hybrid setup, including with Docker; according to its makers there is also a SaaS option. If you host it yourself, the exchanged files stay under your own control. The website does not say where the SaaS option runs. The makers describe LinShare as GDPR-ready and publish a privacy policy.
