Nginx Proxy Manager is a web interface for managing Nginx reverse proxies without deep knowledge of Nginx. With it you create forwarding rules for domains, redirections, streams and 404 hosts, request free SSL certificates from Let's Encrypt and set up access lists with basic authentication. It supports several users with permissions and keeps an audit log. It is delivered as a ready-made Docker image and needs a database; the admin interface runs on its own port.
The project was started by a developer in Australia, who maintains it with contributors through a GitHub organisation; no company behind it is named. The licence is MIT. Because you run the container yourself, your traffic and configuration do not pass through a vendor cloud operated by the makers. It is listed in the SILL, the French government's list of recommended free software, and is suited to home networks.
