According to Wikipedia, films can be rented for 48 hours or bought. Viewers watch on laptop, smart TV, PlayStation, Apple TV, Android TV, tablet and mobile, and can cast with Chromecast or AirPlay. Pathé Thuis began in 2011 at the cinema chain Pathé Nederland and has operated independently since 2014. In January 2022 Pathé Theatres, the Dutch cinema operator, became majority shareholder. According to Wikipedia, the French group Les Cinémas Pathé Gaumont is also a shareholder; the Netherlands and France are both in the EU, so no parent company outside Europe is involved. The website does not name the operating company or the hosting location. No open-source version exists.
