PlaynVoice is a documentation tool for psychotherapy and psychiatry. It transcribes the conversation with a patient while it takes place, including Swiss German and several other languages, and drafts structured progress notes and reports that the therapist can edit. It works on smartphones, tablets and laptops through a web login.
PlaynVoice is made by Playn Solutions AG in Zurich, Switzerland. According to the vendor, data is stored encrypted on servers in Switzerland, audio recordings are deleted automatically after transcription, and the documentation is not used to train AI models. The vendor also says the service is built on the open-source Whisper model and on closed-source AI models from Azure, that is Microsoft technology; where that processing takes place is not stated, so ask. The vendor states compliance with Swiss and European (GDPR) data protection law. Nothing is published about who owns the company. Switzerland is not in the EU but is an EFTA country with an EU adequacy decision. This is health data, so ask for a data processing agreement.
