QuarkXPress is a desktop publishing program for laying out print publications, brochures and digital documents. Designers and print studios use it to assemble pages and build layouts. Quark Software also offers the Quark Publishing Platform, an enterprise system for creating and managing regulated content.
Quark Software was founded in Denver in 1981 and is now headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Zax.ai announced the acquisition of the company in April 2026. As a US company, Quark Software may be subject to US legal process, such as the CLOUD Act, for data under its control, so a European organisation should confirm where any hosted data is stored before using online services. Ownership has changed several times: Platinum Equity acquired the company in 2011 and Parallax Capital Partners in 2017.
