Sage People is a cloud-based HR and personnel management (human capital management) system for mid-sized businesses. It grew out of the UK company Fairsail: Sage and Fairsail co-developed Sage People and launched it in 2016. It extends Fairsail's HCM functionality with payroll, in line with the idea of offering people, payroll, payments and accounting in one cloud system. Fairsail was known as a people solution on the Salesforce platform. It is delivered as SaaS.

In 2017 Sage took full ownership of Fairsail, having previously held a 20.7 per cent stake. The owner is Sage Group plc, a British company headquartered in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, and listed on the London Stock Exchange. The product is not open source. The sources consulted do not establish in which region the data is hosted; a European organisation should confirm this with the vendor, along with the role of any underlying platform provider.
