SchemaSuite is a software suite from Newis SA for documenting and managing fibre-optic, electrical and public-lighting networks. It consists of three trade modules: SchemaFiber for fibre networks, SchemaElec for electrical and lighting networks and SchemaGeo for trenches, ducts and overhead lines. The modules work on their own or together, with all data in a single database and a built-in GIS. Geographic tables are standard spatial tables and can be used in tools such as QGIS and Esri, and data can be exported as Shape files. It is aimed at telecommunications companies, municipalities, utilities, railway operators and corporate networks.
Newis SA is headquartered in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, and no parent company is named. Switzerland is not in the EU, but it is an EFTA country with an EU adequacy decision for data protection. SchemaSuite is installed on your own infrastructure: a Windows client and two databases on Microsoft SQL Server, where the Express edition is enough for small networks. On request Newis also provides a server for remote use; the website does not state its location, so ask the vendor.
