Sketchbook is a drawing and painting app for everything from quick sketches to finished artwork. It offers natural-feeling brushes and pens, customisable brushes, guides and rulers, and layers with blend modes. Sketchbook Pro runs on macOS and Windows, and the mobile version on iOS and Android. The software is installed locally on the device and distributed through the Apple, Microsoft and Google app stores.
Sketchbook was originally an Autodesk product, but in June 2021 it was transferred to the independent company Sketchbook, Inc., formed by former Autodesk staff. According to its privacy policy that company is based in the United States and processes personal data on servers in the US. The policy contains an appendix for users in the EEA, Switzerland and the United Kingdom describing their data-subject rights. Because the app works locally, drawings remain on the user's own device; account and newsletter data fall under US jurisdiction.
