SkyShowtime is a subscription streaming service that brings together films and series from studios and networks including Universal Pictures, DreamWorks, Sky Studios, Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon. It launched in the Nordic countries in 2022 and has expanded to further European markets, among them the Netherlands, Spain and Poland. You use it as an app or web service on mobile devices, in a browser, on smart TVs and game consoles; an ad-supported tier exists alongside premium subscriptions.
SkyShowtime is a joint venture between Sky Group, part of the US group Comcast, and Skydance Direct-to-Consumer, part of Skydance Corporation. Its privacy policy names SkyShowtime Limited, with an address in the United Kingdom, as data controller. Data may be processed in any country where the company has facilities or service providers; transfers are limited to the EU and countries the European Commission considers adequate, or rely on standard contractual clauses. The policy does not commit to EU-only hosting. Both owners are based in the United States, which is relevant for European organisations in the context of the CLOUD Act.
