Sophos Mobile is a unified endpoint management (UEM) product from Sophos. IT teams use it to manage iOS, Android, Windows 10, macOS and Chrome OS devices: configuration and policies, inventory, reporting and app management, including an enterprise app store and allow or block lists. It also adds mobile threat defence against malware, ransomware and unwanted apps, plus anti-phishing and web filtering. For bring-your-own-device scenarios it supports Android Enterprise Work Profile and iOS User Enrollment to keep business and personal data separate, and it feeds device data into Sophos XDR.
Sophos Ltd is headquartered in Abingdon, England, so it sits outside the EU. Since March 2020 it has been owned by the American private equity firm Thoma Bravo, which is a relevant factor when assessing exposure to the US CLOUD Act. Sophos operates data centres in the United States, Ireland and Germany; the Sophos Mobile product page does not state which regions apply to this product, so European organisations should fix the tenant location contractually. The software is proprietary and not open source.
