Sylius is an open-source, headless e-commerce platform and framework written in PHP, built on Symfony and API Platform. It is aimed at development teams at mid-market and enterprise brands that want to build a custom online shop for B2C or B2B. A REST API lets you use any frontend, including headless and PWA setups. Beyond the free core there are commercial product lines such as Sylius Plus, Elesto for B2B and Dafre for marketplaces. Sylius is not consumed as a service but installed and operated by you, and according to the project it runs on a plain VPS, in Docker or on Kubernetes.
Sylius is headquartered in Poznań, Poland. The software is released under the MIT licence and the source code is on GitHub. Because you host the framework yourself, you decide in which country and with which provider your data is stored, and there is no mandatory vendor cloud. A European organisation can therefore run it entirely within the EU, and the permissive licence limits dependence on a single supplier.
