windream is an ECM (enterprise content management) system for document management and process optimisation, aimed at medium-sized companies and large organisations. It stores, classifies and indexes digital documents, makes them searchable and archives them automatically in an audit-proof way. It also includes workflows, deadline and task monitoring, version and change tracking, email archiving, digital personnel files, e-signatures and OCR. windream Dynamic Workspace provides a web front end, usable on tablets and smartphones. Interfaces exist for Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint and Dynamics, among others. windream is available as web-based software, as SaaS or on-premises.
windream is a German product: windream GmbH is based in Germany and the product is one of the brands of dataglobal Group, also a German company. The software is not open source. With on-premises use, documents stay on your own infrastructure; for the SaaS option, the hosting location is something to settle with the vendor. For a European organisation, the vendor and its group therefore fall under European jurisdiction, with no foreign parent company evident from the sources.
