Adobe Workfront is an enterprise work management platform delivered as software-as-a-service. Organisations use it for workflow, project, portfolio and resource management, process automation, approvals, document management, dashboards and reporting. Workfront began as AtTask, was renamed Workfront in 2015 and has been part of Adobe since the acquisition closed in December 2020. It integrates with Adobe Creative Cloud.
Workfront is owned by Adobe, a US company, so the provider is subject to US jurisdiction, including the CLOUD Act. In 2016 Workfront announced data centres in Ireland and Germany, alongside existing facilities in the US, so that European customers could store and process data within the region. Adobe states that for business customers in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Adobe Systems Software Ireland Limited acts as the processing entity and may transfer data to the US under Standard Contractual Clauses. Workfront Inc. takes part in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. The software is proprietary and no self-hosted edition is documented. European organisations should fix the hosting region in their contract.
