ADprofiler: sovereignty score and 8 European alternatives

ADprofiler is software for automated user management in Microsoft Active Directory, developed by taNET GmbH, a Swiss engineering firm for IT security and networks in Goldau. It is aimed at IT administrators who want to stop managing accounts by hand. ADprofiler connects to existing data sources and creates, changes and deactivates accounts in Active Directory according to rules defined in advance. Changes can be simulated before they are applied. Modules add mail signatures, telephony and software distribution, and the release notes mention Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams and Entra ID.

ADprofiler is installed on a server and runs in your own environment, so data stays where you operate your directory. taNET also offers it within its managed hosting, from a data centre it says is entirely in Switzerland. taNET GmbH is based in Goldau; no foreign parent company is named. The software remains tied to Microsoft Active Directory. Switzerland is not an EU member, but it is an EFTA country with a European adequacy decision. For the managed option, ask for a data processing agreement.
