Agorakit is web-based groupware for collectives such as associations, neighbourhood initiatives and other self-organising groups. Each group, open or invitation-only, has its own discussion forum, calendar, map of geolocated events, file storage and member list. Members sign up with an email address and stay informed through email notifications, whose frequency can be set per group. The application is built on Laravel and is delivered as server software.
Agorakit is open source under the AGPL licence. According to the project site it is made in Belgium; no legal entity is named. You can install the software on your own server, so that data stays under your control. A free instance is also available at app.agorakit.org, and the project offers hosting and custom development; where that instance runs is not published. Development was co-funded through the EU's NGI Zero programme, run by NLnet.
