Dabble is writing software for novelists. The application offers a plot grid for mapping scenes, subplots and character arcs, character profiles and a space for worldbuilding. It also has a focus mode, automatic formatting and chapter numbering, daily word goals, comments and highlights, and built-in grammar and style checks. Dabble works in the browser and as a downloadable app on computer, tablet and phone, syncs between devices and supports writing offline.
Dabble Writer, Inc. is a US company, and its terms of use are governed by the law of the State of Utah. The privacy policy describes the service as based in the United States and says data may be stored in the United States or elsewhere, without naming a hosting provider or region. US jurisdiction, including the CLOUD Act, therefore applies. The policy does not mention the GDPR and does not describe data-subject rights or a data processing agreement. For manuscripts with sensitive or confidential content, it is sensible to keep local backups and to ask the provider how data is stored.
