fidentity SIGN is a service for signing contracts digitally with qualified electronic signatures (QES). According to the vendor, a QES is equivalent to a handwritten signature in Switzerland (ZertES) and in the EU (eIDAS). The service is aimed at banks, insurers and other companies that need legally binding remote signing. Signers use a smartphone, are identified through the companion IDENT service and then download the signed document, without an app or password. SIGN integrates into existing customer journeys and is offered as a cloud service.
fidentity AG is a Swiss company with offices in Bern. The vendor states that it develops all components itself in Switzerland and names Spicehaus Partners as lead investor, with no foreign majority owner named. For IDENT the vendor says that data and processes stay in a Swiss data centre; the hosting location of SIGN itself is not stated separately, so ask the vendor. Switzerland is not an EU member but is an EFTA country with an EU adequacy decision, and fidentity has an EEA representative under the GDPR.
