Figma is a collaborative design platform that runs in the browser. Its products include Figma Design for interface design and prototyping, FigJam as a digital whiteboard, Dev Mode for translating designs into code, Figma Slides for presentations and Figma Make for generating code from prompts. Teams work together on shared files, and desktop apps for macOS, Windows and Linux support offline editing that syncs later. Figma is delivered as a cloud service.
Figma, Inc. is headquartered in San Francisco and listed on the New York Stock Exchange, so it falls under US jurisdiction. Enterprise customers can have the contents of Figma and FigJam files hosted in the European Union: the primary location is Frankfurt, with backups in Dublin, on AWS. EU hosting is available only on the Enterprise plan. User metadata and login data are not hosted in the EU, and some data in transit is stored temporarily outside the EU. European organisations should therefore check which data stays outside the EU region.
