Forma LMS is an open-source learning management system that organisations use to manage and deliver online training, with a focus on corporate learning. It supports e-learning with SCORM 2004, management of classroom training, reporting, flexible user management with groups and custom fields, PDF certificates and a multi-client configuration for several brands or departments. It is web-based software written in PHP that runs on a MySQL database, and it began in 2012 as a fork of Docebo's open-source edition.
The software is released under the GNU General Public License version 2 and is maintained by a network of Italian companies. You install Forma LMS yourself, on your own servers or with a hosting provider of your choice, so you decide in which country the data is stored. The source code can be inspected and adapted. For a European organisation this means the platform can run entirely under its own control and within European jurisdiction, provided hosting and support are also arranged in Europe.
