Grisbi is an open-source application for personal accounting. It manages multiple accounts, currencies and users, and handles third parties, expense and income categories, budget lines, financial years, budget estimates and bank card management. According to the project description, this also makes it suitable for associations. It is a desktop application that you install on your own computer, and a full manual is available online. The project site announced version 3.90.1 on 31 December 2025.
Grisbi has no legal entity or imprint of its own. The project's README says the application is written by French developers and therefore respects French accounting rules. Development is community-based and moved from SourceForge to GitHub in 2017. The licence is the GNU GPL version 2. Because you run the program yourself, your financial data stays on your own system and is not sent to the developers.
