AccountView is a Dutch bookkeeping program, in use since 1987, for accountancy firms and for small and mid-sized businesses that keep their own financial administration. Several people can work in the same administration at once. Features include a direct bank connection, AutoInvoice for purchase invoices, automatic payments, an audit trail, UBL e-invoicing and a web API; add-on bundles cover trade and projects. It can be installed locally or used as AccountView Online, the cloud edition.
AccountView originated in Amsterdam and has been part of the Norwegian Visma group since 2007; since 2012 the business has operated as Visma Software BV. Visma is headquartered in Oslo and majority-owned by the private equity firm HgCapital. The product is proprietary, not open source. The vendor's product page does not state a hosting location for AccountView Online. For a European organisation this means a Dutch product line with a Norwegian parent; Norway is in the European Economic Area but outside the EU. A local installation keeps data on the organisation's own systems.
