Ibexa DXP: sovereignty score and 8 European alternatives

Ibexa DXP, formerly eZ Platform, is a digital experience platform for managing content, websites, personalisation and digital commerce, mainly for B2B organisations. It is built on PHP and Symfony and offers GraphQL and REST APIs so that it can be decoupled from other systems and from frontends built with, for example, React or Vue. The range includes Ibexa Headless, Ibexa Experience and Ibexa Commerce. You can run it on your own servers, in a cloud of your choice, or on Ibexa Cloud, the vendor's managed PaaS.

Ibexa is a Norwegian software company headquartered in Oslo. In November 2021, QNTM Group acquired a majority stake. The core technology is available as Ibexa Open Source under the GPL; this edition is fully functional but comes without commercial support from Ibexa and with fewer features than the commercial products. For a European organisation this means self-hosting in a European data centre is possible, whereas with Ibexa Cloud the choice of underlying cloud platform determines the jurisdiction.
