IBM Security Verify Access, renamed IBM Verify Identity Access from version 11.0.0, is an access management product. It combines WebSEAL, a reverse proxy that enforces authentication and authorisation in front of web applications, with Advanced Access Control and Federation. It is aimed at organisations that want to protect many web applications behind a central policy point. IBM delivers it as a virtual appliance or as Docker containers that you run yourself, including on Kubernetes.
IBM is a US company, so US legislation such as the CLOUD Act can apply to the supplier. Because you install and operate the software yourself in your own data centre or cloud environment, you decide where session and user data are processed, including within the EU. The product is proprietary and not open source; licensing, updates and support remain with IBM.
