AuthN by IDEE is a passwordless, phishing-resistant multi-factor authentication product that works on the same device. According to the vendor, it uses the security chip in the user's own device, no credential leaves that device, and IDEE stores no passwords or personal data about end users. AuthN connects through SAML, OIDC, WS-Federation, WebAuthn and FIDO2 to directories and identity platforms such as Active Directory, Entra ID, Keycloak, Okta and Google Workspace. It is delivered as SaaS, and IDEE also offers Kiosk MFA for shared workstations.
IDEE GmbH is headquartered in Munich, Germany; no parent company is named. According to its website, the service runs on georedundant AWS infrastructure. The region is not stated, and because AWS is a US provider, organisations with strict jurisdiction requirements should ask for details. Nothing is said about open-source licensing or self-hosting. The vendor presents its zero-PII architecture as data minimisation: there is no identity database that could leak in a breach.
