ISPConfig is a web-based hosting control panel for managing servers through the browser. From one interface it manages web servers (Apache2, nginx), mail (Postfix, Dovecot), FTP, DNS (Bind, PowerDNS) and MariaDB or MySQL databases, for one or more servers. It provides four access levels: administrator, reseller, client and email login. The panel is installed on a physical server or virtual machine that the organisation operates itself.

According to the project website, ISPConfig is licensed under the BSD licence and is open source, so its source code can be inspected and deployed on your own servers. The website's legal notice names projektfarm GmbH as the operator, with a registered address in Germany. Because the software runs on your own infrastructure, processing does not run through a vendor cloud. No foreign parent company is named.
