Kieselstein ERP: sovereignty score and 8 European alternatives

Kieselstein ERP is an open-source ERP system for small and medium-sized businesses, mainly manufacturers in the DACH region. It includes modules for order management, accounting, CRM, capacity planning, production with bills of materials, projects, warehouse management and time recording via terminal or mobile app, with open REST APIs. The system is a fork of HELIUM V and runs on Linux, Windows and macOS. It is installed on-premises rather than offered as a cloud service, and according to the vendor it is licensed under the AGPL.

The software is backed by Kieselstein ERP eG, a cooperative based in Ahorn, Germany, whose members jointly decide the roadmap. Its legal notice names no parent company. Because you run the system on your own servers, you decide where the data is stored; the vendor names no fixed hosting location, so the EU is used as the reference point. The software can be downloaded without licence fees, while support and training material are reserved for members of the cooperative.
